Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Project Navigator is a productivity app run by Escape Scout (ABN 79 270 743 506). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We’ve written it to be read, not skimmed past.

The short version

  • We collect only what we need to run your account: your email, your name if you give it, and the things you put into the app.
  • We don’t sell your information, and we don’t run advertising.
  • We don’t use analytics or advertising trackers inside the app.
  • You can download everything we hold about you, or delete your account and its data, yourself, at any time, from the Account page.
  • Your card details go straight to our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

1. Who we are

Escape Scout (ABN 79 270 743 506) operates Project Navigator. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Escape Scout. You can contact us at support@escapescout.com.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your email address, your name (if you provide it) and your password. Your password is held by our authentication provider in scrambled (hashed) form. We can’t read it.
  • Your content: the things you create in the app, including Inbox notes, projects, milestones, tasks, daily plans, focus sessions, Pomodoro targets and your end-of-day reviews and reflections.
  • Your settings: for example your timezone and your theme choice.
  • Messages to us: anything you send to our support email, including your email address.

Billing information

When you start a free trial or subscribe, you enter your card details on a page run by Stripe. We receive and keep only what we need to run your subscription: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, your subscription status and your trial and renewal dates. We do not receive or store your full card number.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: when you use the app, our hosting provider records standard request details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use these for security, reliability and fixing problems.
  • Cookies and similar storage: see section 6.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and run your account and provide the app.
  • To process your trial and subscription, and to tell you about your billing.
  • To send service emails, such as email confirmation, password reset and important changes to the service or these documents.
  • To respond to your questions and requests for support.
  • To keep the app secure, prevent misuse, and diagnose and fix problems.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.

We won’t send you marketing emails unless you separately agree to them, and you can opt out at any time. We don’t read your content except where you ask us to help with a support issue, or where it is necessary to keep the service secure or to meet a legal requirement. We don’t use your content to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the app. They handle your information only to provide their services to us.

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in system. Your account and content are stored in Amazon Web Services data centres in Singapore.
  • Vercel: hosts the app. Our servers run in Singapore, and pages are delivered through a worldwide network.
  • Stripe: processes payments and manages subscriptions, and may send you receipts and billing notices.
  • Resend: delivers the emails the app sends, such as confirmation and password reset emails.
  • Google Workspace: runs our support inbox.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, safety or security of our users or us, or as part of a sale or restructure of the business (in which case we will make sure the new owner honours this policy). We do not sell your personal information.

5. Where your information goes

Your content is stored in Singapore. Some of our providers are based in, or process information in, other countries, including the United States and Japan. When your information is handled overseas we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider protects it to a standard consistent with this policy and Australian privacy law.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use only the cookies and browser storage the app needs to work:

  • Sign-in cookies keep you logged in. Without them you couldn’t use the app.
  • Preference storage remembers your theme (light, dark or system) and whether the sidebar is open.
  • A background service in your browser lets the app show timer notifications, but only if you choose to turn notifications on.

We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. Our payment provider, Stripe, may use its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages.

7. Keeping your information safe

We protect your information with encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that restrict each account to its own data, and providers who encrypt stored data. No online service is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the regulator as the law requires.

Please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account, your account and everything in it are deleted from our database straight away, and any active subscription is cancelled. Copies may remain in our providers’ backups for a short time before they are overwritten. We may keep limited billing and transaction records for as long as the law requires, for example for tax purposes. Stripe keeps its own records under its own policy.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access and export: download a copy of your data from the Account page.
  • Correction: you can edit your content in the app. To correct your account details, contact us.
  • Deletion: delete your account from the Account page, or ask us to.
  • Marketing: opt out at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us.
  • Notifications: turn browser notifications off at any time in your browser settings.

If you’re in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. We process your information to provide the service you signed up for, for our legitimate interests in running and securing it, to meet legal obligations, and where you’ve given consent.

10. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please email us at support@escapescout.com. We’ll acknowledge it promptly and try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

11. Children

Project Navigator is not intended for children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app or the law changes. For significant changes we’ll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
